Cette chanson fait référence à la mort de Rudolf Hess, le dernier nazi de la prison de Spandau, qui était située à l’ouest de Berlin, dans le secteur d’occupation britannique de Berlin-Ouest. C’est dans cette ancienne prison militaire que les criminels de guerre nazis condamnés au procès de Nuremberg furent détenus. Elle a été complètement démolie après la mort de Hess en 1987. La chanson rappelle que le travail de dénazification n’a pas été fait en Allemagne comme a peu près partout, et bien que certains nazis aient été enfermés, bien d’autres ont vite repris les affaires et du poil de la bête brune.
